The Group’s History

The BARNES Group was founded by Heidi Barnes and Thibault de Saint Vincent in 2004. Its roots however date back to 1995, when Heidi Barnes created a relocation company in London for foreign clients wishing to live in England’s capital city. The company’s success led to the opening of an office in Paris, which would soon become a leading name in the business.

Thibault de Saint Vincent, president and founder of the real estate group CONNEXION Immobilier, developed his company with steadfast professionalism and rigor during the real-estate slump of the 1990’s. After selling his company in the late 90’s, Thibault de Saint Vincent left France to discover the American market, where he earned a degree as a broker, and set up a real estate agency in Florida focused on catering to French clientele.

Thanks to its location at a crossroads between three continents (North America, South America, and Europe and its reputation for attracting important figures and affluent families, Miami is a typical choice for international and mobile clients looking to purchase upscale properties in cities all over the world (Miami, New York, London, Paris, Brussels, Geneva, Dubai, etc.). This observation led Heidi Barnes and Thibault de Saint Vincent to create a totally new concept: launching a luxury international real estate company with offices located in the top cities around the world.

In 2004, the BARNES Group was launched, benefiting from both Heidi Barnes’ experience with the Anglo-American style of service and Thibault de Saint Vincent’s entrepreneurial spirit. After opening its doors in London and Miami, the “Paris Right Bank” office was created at the heart of France’s most affluent city, located at 22 rue de l’Hôtel de Ville in Neuilly-sur-Seine.

This international company quickly called for the creation of a skilled management team. Associate Richard Tzipine joined the company on January 1, 2006, to work at the head of senior management. Tzipine’s experience as corporate manager of a top international media group allowed him to propel the group’s Paris office as one of the leading Parisian luxury real estate agencies.

In 2007 Barnes opened a second office in Paris located 13 rue Bonaparte on the left bank with Thierry Chomel as an associate manager. 2007 is also the year Barnes opened in Aix en Provence with its representative Dominique Millant.

In 2008 Barnes launched the Cannes office with Philippe Magaud and Geoffrey Bretemieux.

Early 2009 the office of Saint Tropez was born with Terence Bourke at its head.

Finally Thibault de Saint Vincent created a service dedicated to the sales of buildings and exclusive properties worth over 10 Millions Euros. This service is located at 18 rue des Belles Feuilles 75116 Paris.
