The City and East - Where business districts merge with creatives - and nightlife

The City of London is historically where trading of goods took place. Still to this day, the capital’s financial district continues to be the centre of commerce with trading, law and finance offices dominating the area. Imposing historic buildings - The Royal Court of Justice, Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral, Royal Exchange - stand shoulder to shoulder with some of London’s most significant architecturally realised and design-led modern glass buildings - The Leadenhall Building, Gherkin, Sky Garden, Bloomberg HQ.  International students are at home here too owing to two of the world’s leading universities, King’s College and London School of Economics.

A fraction to the east and north of The City is a further plethora of architectural styles, old and new, from nautical St Katherine’s Dock, to factory warehouse conversions in SpitalfieldsShoreditch High Street, Spitalfields Market and Box Park offer the latest in trendy boutiques and streetwear fashion along with an ever-changing selection of restaurants. Broadway Market and Columbia Road Flower Market are incredibly popular weekend activities whilst Shoreditch nightlife, dubbed the new West End, is second to none with clubs and bars forever opening new haunts. Easily reachable by the Central Line and the Overground.

Old Street, also known as ‘Silicon Roundabout’ for its high concentration of Tech Start-Ups, is a vibrant area for guaranteed high rental returns and owner occupiers alike. Leading up transient City Road is Angel and Islington. Bustling Upper Street, with its abundance of quality restaurants, bakeries and gastro pubs, connects charming cobble street Camden Passage to Highbury Fields. Close to Regent’s Canal, Islington offers large Georgian and Edwardian family homes, flat conversions, and canal-front new developments, for all types of buyer profile at whatever stage of their property journey.
